Accounts
Each user on the WebCT server is known as an account holder and is identified via their ID number. All UWG students have a WebCT account, however not every course you are enrolled in will have a WebCT component. If you are a student who is enrolled in classes at UWG, your WebCT account is automatically created on your first enrollment at UWG. Your account should be available 24 hours after your enrollment has been processed and will remain active on the WebCT server for the entire period of your studies at UWG.
Why can't I see my course listed in myWebCT?
After you log in, if you can't see any courses on your myWebCT page it could mean either that your instructors are not using WebCT for the particular courses in which you are enrolled, or that they have not yet given you access to their online courses. The instructor must import the class roster before you will be able to access the course. Note that some instructors may wait up to two weeks into the semester before importing the roster. They will determine the commencement and end dates for your WebCT course. If you continue to have problems, please contact the Distance and Distributed Education (DDEC) Helpdesk at

All students are automatically allocated a Student ID number on admission to a UWG program of study.
Your WebCT ID, also known as your "Username" is the same as your UWG Webmail username (ex: jsmith12). Every registerered student is assigned this username, whether or not they activate a UWG Webmail account or not.
Make sure when you type it in that it is all lowercase AND with NO spaces. Do NOT attempt to type any letter in as uppercase or you will not be able to access WebCT.

Passwords
NOTE: Your WebCT password is reset to this initial password at the beginning of each term.
Changing your Banweb or myuwg portal password does NOT change your WebCT password.

Password troubleshooting procedures
- The first questions to ask yourself is "Did I enter my username with all lowercase letters and did I use the correct combination of numbers for my password? Did I enter both with NO spaces?"
- If WebCT will not let you log on but does NOT give you an error message stating that your username or password is incorrect, then the problem is that you need to check your browser settings. Most especially, make sure that you have your browser set to accept all cookies. You may do this by visiting the WebCT Browser Tune-Up.
- If it DOES give you an error message stating that your username or password is incorrect, then please contact the UWG DDEC Helpdesk at 678-839-6248 or at distance@westga.edu.
Students should also note that creation of student WebCT accounts and registration into WebCT courses only happens after your enrollment has been successfuly completed. If you haven't completed your enrollment then you will not be able to access the WebCT component of your courses.
